Animal Control
The Town of Rose Hill has an animal control ordinance which is strictly enforced. No animal shall run at large within the city limits. Animals are required to have rabies vaccinations and be registered at Town Hall; the registration fee is $10 per animal. Beginning September 15, 2025 the Town of Rose Hill will be contracting with Southeastern Wildlife Damage Control. Services provided to citizens will be stray dog and cat trapping at no cost to the citizens. These services will only be provided to citizens within the city limits of Rose Hill. Trapping hours are Monday-Thursday between 9 am and 5 pm.
Animals trapped will be taken to Duplin County Animal Shelter in Kenansville.
Owner surrenders are NOT included in pick-up services.
Any requests for trapping services can be scheduled by calling the Rose Hill Town Hall at 910-289-3159 between the hours of 8 am through 5 pm Monday-Friday.
For after hours emergency situations ONLY, please contact the sheriffs office at 910-296-2150 and ask to speak with an on-duty Rose Hill police officer. The officer will determine if indeed it is an emergency before Southeastern Wildlife Damage Control is dispatched.
